Greetings from Nungwi, Zanzibar.
Been lazy last few days and whenever the trip to beach has been taken, swimming, not talking photos while sweating profusely. photos from this morning, naturally it was cloudy but still gives you an idea.
Slow pace if living and have met some cool people. For some reason whenever my feet get used to sandals, stop wearing them. Then hit beach like now and after day one have cut up feet, this saga never ends. Walking around barefoot is hippy and unsanitary at best.
What I find funny is the lady who makes meals near here sells beef stew, just like dad makes. Not sure where she sources her beef but it’s prime.
Supposedly Paje is another great beach which may be worth checking out. Also the island of Pemba is supposedly stunning. As mentioned earlier, very slow here and relaxed, especially as it’s off season. Relaxing on the beach here is a lot more my pace then exploring the Slave Market in Stone Town.
There are some nice restaurants on the beach, some on stilts so above the ocean when the tide is in. Believe a 5ish o’clock dinner is best to enjoy the scenery and be out of the heat. Once it gets dark, still cool but loses effect. Maybe 6 is best!?
That’s about it for now.
