Beaches in Odessa, Ukraine are busy – You gotta see this!

Last Updated on

I’ve been in Odessa over a week now and have basically just been living my life. The beaches in Odessa are busy but I love it. Tweather has turned but before that happened, had some amazing days at the beaches. In fact it was 30 degrees and sunny for about a solid week. Weekends were best but the beach was packed daily.

Best beaches in Odessa, Ukraine

Odessa is a port city along the Black Sea. It’s got countless beaches in and around town, something for everyone. Also the Arcadia district has many lovely resorts. Yours truly has mainly just been hitting up a local beach off the side of the city. I’m not sure what’s better – the beaches or the nightlife in Odessa, Ukraine. What are the best beaches in Odessa? They’re all good and they’re all busy!

To begin, if you don’t like busy beaches, Odessa might not be right for you. If you like busy beaches, Odessa, Ukraine is heaven on earth. The beaches in Odessa are literally packed because it’s a big city and everyone wants some sun. The benefits of a busy beach are many. Here are just a few of the benefits : great people watching, meet interesting people, lots of food and drink, safety in numbers.

A good beach routine is to head down, get sorted with some friends. Go for a swim, do some sunbathing and then head to one of the beach bars. I liked the beach bars as much as I liked the beach. There are several beaches in Odessa but expect all of them to be crowded. Think of heading to the beach as a cultural experience as you’ll see all walks of life.

Beach photos from Odessa

These photos & video were taken last weekend. To be fair, I walked down the beach with my iphone and just hit “snap” whenever I felt the urge. Since it was sunny out, could not see anything past the glare. This SHOULD give you an idea of what it’s like here. I could live here for a summer, easily. Naturally, some photos have been excluded for being too graphic for the likes of “John Q. Internet Public”.

  1. Beautiful water, and a lot of….flesh?!

We’re thinking of heading to Ukraine by the end of summer, I know nothing about the country so it was nice to get some insight of the beach life there, thanks!

  2. I knew nothing before I got here, it’s a great place. Send me a tweet if you want an idea on accommodations, found a perfect place. Enjoy your train challenge.

  3. Wow, that place looks really nice man. Looks like you’re really enjoying yourself there. You always seem to travel to places that most people have never heard much about. Props to you… Talk soon.

  4. Hey!

I’m coming to Odessa tonight for a week, I was wondering if you can recommend any sights/experiences that can’t be found on wikitravel/lonely planet/etc.

Also any concerts/events going on in the city?

Its great that you have the opportunity to travel like this! Definitely not a boring life!

    1. Stay at the Babuskha Grand as it was one of my favorite hostels in the world, felt like I was at home. Super nice staff and great kitchen + location.

Just get lost in the city, walk around, be sure to visit the local open air market and make your own adventure. The beach on the weekend is out of this world, have a beverage at the camo bar.

Above all else, just be spontaneous.

      Have fun!!

  5. Wow, I never imagined the Ukraine to look like this. We just arrive in Florida (U.S.) and it kinda feels the same… but tops on!

Cheers and keep up the not at all boring life.

    1. It’s a trip, love it over there. Constanta, Romania is also of similar nature.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello.

    1. Not sure, believe a hostel was 10-15 Euro a night and then it all depends on how you live. Water was pretty cold if I recall correctly.

  6. Looks very nice, but a bit to many people, or what do you think? Looks like they really love the sun!!

    Greetz from Berlin

    1. Depends on how fun the people are but still a good time. I need to make I back to Berlin sometime and greets from the Caribbean!

  7. wow. i would love to see Odessa and Sevastopol as well but I fell in love with snorkeling last summer and i wonder if the black sea is good enough to do it? have you seen people doing this?

  8. I’m thinking of heading to Odessa by the end of June,2014. I know nothing about Ukraine &
Odessa? What are the travel cost and and how warm is the water during summer in Ukraine?
